Within the program of activities developed in the Storyline Discovery methodology, we are proposing inclusive and tailored innovative workshops for youth facilitators and mentors to think up and increase the quality of youth work (strengthening and enlarging the network of existing facilitators and their practices). The method aims to encourage participants to embrace the value of self-reflection and circulating storylines via interactive expression, including moment awareness and upskilling in using digital solutions – and bringing them closer to each other, but also to new skills such as artistic creation and dissemination of the digital content.
The project STORYLINE DISCOVERY will focus on tackling the needs of youth, aged 13-26, in Sweden, Serbia and Slovenia, as the final beneficiaries of the action.

Our motivation is to trigger processes among youth we deem important to produce the social change. Nonetheless, it is important to understand that this change starts from the individual reflection of our reality, which is why we want to bring up the individual values and transform passive spectators to social actors. We focus on theatre practices and workshops that engage young intellectually, aesthetically and emotionally while devising theatrical and multimedia tools. Performances and all activities that the three organisations carry out, propel “observers“ into actions, bringing life stories into stage, eliciting and addressing society challenges, such as migration, exclusion, discrimination, difficulty in integration and belonging as well as a wide variety of human rights issues.
We do this by bringing life stories to the stage. We expose young people to real life situations and invite them to bring practical solutions and express themselves. Thus, they can become the heroes of their own doings, sensitizing and mobilizing on an individual and group level.
We are proposing inclusive and tailored innovative methods for mentors and facilitators to think up and increase quality of youth work (strengthening and enlarging the network capacity) as well as youth interaction, including awareness and upskilling in using digital solutions.

Our objectives are:
- Design a method for pedagogical youth approach in cooperation with our partners.
- Educate new facilitators who will use our approach in youth work.
- Youth participants will: boost self-confidence, work on empathy and have a chance to create storylines based on their backgrounds.
- Youth with fewer opportunities will have a chance to travel, exchange experiences, open new horizons.
- Digital workshops will provide them with practical skills and tools to disseminate their work.
Throughout the whole process and as the long term impact of this project, we expect youth to gain a higher sense of participation in the society while advancing self reflection, resilience, civil courage, multi-cultural understanding and tolerance, including the digital participation and digital awareness as one of the essential educative remarks (educating youth how to create and value digital content aesthetically and artistically).
The project STORYLINE DISCOVERY will focus on tackling the needs of youth, aged 13-26, in Sweden, Serbia and Slovenia, as the final beneficiaries of the action.
The results we are aiming to:
- Storyline Discovery method for youth work
- Scripts created during our workshops, documented by youth in groups, based on their and their peers life stories
- Participation and performing on the youth festivals in Malmo and Koper
- Video content artistically produced and disseminated by our participants
- Publicly available Handbook documenting the steps and methodological approach
- The experience from the project will open new perspectives to both youth and facilitators
